“Almost all materials used for the mail art collages referenced in PostMortem were found on the streets of New York, altered and then repurposed. Much like filmmaking, the process is slow and deliberate: the collection of materials, creating the collage, awaiting postage, etc. and then its put out into the world via mail. Which ones will survive it’s journey? We may never know. All of these activities take patience. It is worth it. Collage is about creating something handmade, and most importantly, taking a break from staring at a screen. You may even discover ephemera has arrived at your own doorstep because of your effort〜 though nothing is guaranteed. These zines are a catalogue of what we have created to feel less alone in this world.”
